Meet the passionate individuals who drive our Club forward. We are all studying at St Johns and have entrepreneurial interests, feel free to reach out.

President
Olivia Dovernor
Olivia is a Digital Technology Consultant and Founder of Student Bubble, a PropTech SaaS company to simplify the rental market for students across the UK. She won £15k equity-free grant funding from Geovation Scotland and a further £2k from EdVenture, crowdfunding an additional £5k.
She is currently working to improve the facilities and resources available at St Johns and our Alumni in Residence to implement a more formal education for Entrepreneurs. She is a 4th Year PhD in Chemistry specialising in analysing soft materials through microscopy.

Simon Cooper
Simon Cooper founded On the Beach in 2004, growing it into a leading beach holiday provider and taking it public in 2015 before achieving FTSE 250 status in 2018. He began his entrepreneurial journey with On the Piste Travel in 1996, later sold to Thomson, and transitioned to Founder Director NED of On the Beach in 2023. Simon also serves as a Non-Executive Director at CurrentBody.com Limited.

Rory Burne
Rory is a PhD student in computational neuroscience, with several years’ prior experience in software engineering, architecture, and leadership. He previously founded two startups, including a fashion AI company offering personalised sizing recommendations to online shoppers.
He runs Flywheel, a non-profit creating the missing incentive structures for talented engineers to build open source tools for science.

Advisor
Liisa van Vliet
Liisa is an accomplished entrepreneur and mentor with a strong background in innovation and education. She founded Drop-Tech Ltd in 2010, specialising in microfluidics instrumentation, and co-founded Evoralis Ltd, securing a $2.5M seed round in 2024. Liisa has been deeply involved in entrepreneurship programmes, including Enterprisers, i2i, and the Masters in Entrepreneurship at CJBS, where she has contributed as a mentor, course manager, and supervisor. Her work also extends to impact-driven initiatives, such as mentoring for Shaping Horizons and Visit for Good, reflecting her commitment to fostering innovation and supporting future entrepreneurs.

Licyel Paulas Condori
Licyel Lenny Paulas Condori is a Bolivian biologist and PhD candidate in Stem Cell Biology at Cambridge, supported by Wellcome and Cambridge Trust scholarships. Founder of Microscopía Para Todos and co-founder of IEM, she champions STEAM education and youth entrepreneurship. Globally recognised for her impact in science and innovation, Licyel collaborates with Latin American researchers to advance regional development.

Michael Lawson-Falomo
Michael, a third-year Management undergraduate, has extensive experience from internships in alternatives and investment banking at top firms like Cinven, Goldman Sachs, and Octopus Ventures across the UK and US. As the founder of Cambridge's Bridgetower Impact Fund, he champions underrepresented founders. With a strong interest in Fintech, consumer banking, AI, and social impact, Michael is leveraging his industry expertise to build a Fintech company.

Tomos Mather
A fifth-year medical student and natural sciences graduate! My interest in entrepreneurship started during my completion of the CJBS Enterprise TECH course. Since then, I have attended several JEC events and worked with a plant-based start-up. Outside of this, I enjoy playing both football and rugby for college!

Annabel Poon
Annabel is passionate about entrepreneurship as a tool for turning innovative ideas into practical, marketable solutions. She is particularly focused on advancing social impact in areas like healthcare access and gender equality, guided by her commitment to ethical practice and creative thinking. A dedicated member of the Johnian Entrepreneurs’ Club, Annabel has enjoyed being part of a dynamic network and is excited to contribute as a committee member, organising engaging events in the months ahead.

Jing Wang Thomas
Jing is an award-winning artist, creative director, and PhD researcher at St John’s College, Cambridge, supported by a Cambridge Trust scholarship. Founder of Diffraction Theatre, she explores the intersection of arts, sciences, and AI. Her acclaimed works, including Decay and AI-Musement Park, have been showcased internationally. Over 20 years, Jing has contributed to major productions across China, the UK, and Europe, with highlights like The Diaries of John Rabe and 170 Days in Nanking, shortlisted for the 2018 International Opera Awards.

Events Communicator
Aidan Gurung
Aidan Gurung is a current MPhil student in the faculty of Education. She is a trained teacher in Canada and previously worked at EdTech startups in Canada and Korea. In her undergrad, she represented her university internationally for co-founding an EdTech platform tackling sex-trfficking. In 2022, Aidan recieved the Cansbridge fellowship, the most competitive fellowship for student entrepreneurs in Canada (~2% acceptance), and this past year she led the selecions process for the fellowship. Aidan is currently the co-founder of it's comma, a startup that leverages advertisements to provide free period products in schools. Her team has raised $19,000 in funding for the startup, and Aidan is currently in the process of conducting funded research to further development.
